Live-Out Nanny: Provides full-time or part-time childcare in your home, but doesn't live with you. They handle everything from meals and activities to outings and light housework.
Live-In Nanny: Offers the same care as a live-out nanny, but resides in your home with their own bedroom and bathroom (ideally). Their compensation is usually lower since room and board are included.
Before/After School Care Nanny: Helps manage busy mornings by getting kids ready and off to school, and can include light housework. After school nannies pick up your children, take them to activities, help with homework, prepare meals, handle light chores, and keep playtime engaging.
Night Nanny: A skilled professional providing nighttime support, particularly for newborns. Duties can vary based on your needs, but often include nappy changes, feeding assistance, soothing, safety supervision, and following your instructions. Night nannies allow parents to get rest while ensuring their babies are well cared for.
Mother's Helper: Provides extra support for stay-at-home parents. They're ideal for families needing help around the house, especially after a new baby arrives. Helpers assist with light housework, errands, and meals. Some may even provide short periods of sole care for your children. They are a good option for families seeking experience for the helper, or for parents who want the flexibility to leave the house occasionally.
Working With Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent: All applicants must have a valid WWCC, or a check from their state or territory that fulfills the same requirements.
Current First Aid and CPR certification: Being able to respond to emergencies is essential. Up-to-date first aid and CPR certification is a must.
Recent Police check: To ensure child safety, we may request a police check if their WWCC is more than two years old (a police check is usually included when applying for a WWCC).
Employment references: We will verify the nanny's experience by contacting their references from past nanny positions.
We understand that being a great nanny goes beyond qualifications and experience. At The Nanny Hub, we recognise the importance of finding nannies with the right character, demeanour, and a genuine passion for childcare. That's why, in addition to thorough background checks and experience verification, we prioritise these qualities in our candidates.
Starting out as a local agency in Sydney, we have expanded our services to cater to families across Australia. Although our roots lie in Sydney, we are proud to offer our expertise and assistance to families nationwide.
Our stringent recruitment process is our priority in every package we offer at The Nanny Hub. We carefully vet each nanny and ensure they comply with all legal requirements, have up-to-date certifications, and share a genuine passion for the job. Rest assured, we've got you covered.
Our process involves:
In contrast to traditional agencies, The Nanny Hub offers flexible solutions to suit your needs:
Typically, the recruitment process takes two to six weeks. Placement timeframes vary on a variety of variables (the current state of the market, the days, hours, location and duties of your role). Please allow us a timeframe of 4-8 weeks.
We completely understand that sometimes you may have an urgent need for a nanny to start immediately. At The Nanny Hub we've got you covered!
Our agency specialises in swift and efficient nanny placements to address your immediate childcare requirements. However, it's important to note that while we make every effort to meet your urgent needs, we typically require a lead time of up to 8 weeks from the date of your initial inquiry.
If you require a nanny to start within 2 weeks, and we are successful in placing a nanny during that timeframe, an additional $145 surcharge will be included in your invoice at the time the Placement Fee is due.
Please note that while we strive to provide the fastest service possible, we cannot guarantee a start date before 8 weeks from your initial inquiry. This timeframe allows us to ensure that we maintain our high standards of safety, qualifications, and compatibility when matching you with a nanny.
In order to attract a higher pool of nanny candidates, we recommend offering a minimum of 4 hr shifts (typically for before/after school nanny roles).
Example: If you require your nanny to pick the kids up from school and take them to after school activites from 3-6pm, we recommend adding an hour beforehand, where your nanny can prepare dinner (chop veggies), or do some general housekeeping.
In cases like the above, nanny's would like their shift to be worthwhile for them (especially factoring in travel time and expenses). We recommend offering $45-50/hr for a 4 hr shift.
You may require your nanny to travel here and there, but the nannies duties are performed primarily in your home. You can certainly elect that travel (domestic or international) is a requirement for employment.
